Creative writing, Charlie and the chocolate factory

Melted, hot, bubbly chocolate bouncing into the sides of our gummy bear boat, Passing all the doors, Following the sweet smell at the end of the long but thin tunnel. Music with hyped emotions drag you down the chocolatey stream, Songs echoing on the hard cold walls. We stumble upon a door, The gummy bear boat swerves around, Onto the wooden platform we step. Beneath the door is a note, I pull it out with my fiery hot fingers from the hot chocolate splashing on them. Above the letter it says ‘those who come in, may not come out. The smell through the doors pushes pressure onto my chest, Like the smell is so strong and is about to burst out. I pull open the heavy door, leading you in behind me, The sweet smell wafts into my face. I gaze around, The room is hardly visible, Steam everywhere, Fogging up my glasses. Above our heads is a fan, I switch it on, The steam slowly floats away, Making room for my bright eyes to see.

Steam pudding, Hot and boiling. Rolling hot smells whispering around the both of us. The taste of this magnificent food has never been in my mouth, I stumble over and shove my hands into it , Ouch, It burns but the smell is making me so hungry that I have to keep going. I bring the hot steamy delicious looking pudding upto my mouth and take a small bite. The sensation in my moist mouth is so unbelievable, How have I never tasted this! I slowly tilt my head up and tie back my long locks. Sweet food absolutely everywhere, I look as far as my Big eyes can see, miles and miles and miles of sweets, Where to start? Little footsteps chatter behind me, I turn around and see a row of oompa loompas in a perfectly straight line jumping into a bowl of lemonade, Lovely pointed toes and on point swimming. The lights dim and the show begins as they do their wonderful work in the bowl. Each arm that moves pushes a delightful smell into my face, warm, cozy, soft feelings fill the room.

The show comes to an end, We stumble upon a track of skittles, Pudding flavoured, You read the sign out loud where the track begins, Cheesecake village or the ice pole, We take the left path, beyond this path is going to be the best thing in the world, You can eat everything, Even the roofs of buildings, As we walk along our eyes drift to either side of the path, The views were just amazing, A chocolate explosion was physically exploding like a volcano would, On the other side was a big tree made out of mint leaves and hardened caramel. As we looked above ourselves, The sky was just magnificent, full of colour and popping out like a student would if they weren’t wearing school uniform. We come across cheesecake village with little peppermint people. The ground is so sticky like a trap, You just have to push your way through it. Streams of cream flow past leaving a bland smell on the tip of ours noses. The time is coming to an end in this room, Through the village we go and to the end of the path is another door that must lead us out back to the hot chocolate river, We open the large candy, colourful door and step onto the gummy bear boat and heading off to another adventure.

Romeo + Juliet Essay

Romeo and juliet is a tragedy written by William shakespeare earlier in his career about two star crossed lovers whose death ultimately reconcile their feuding families. It was among shakespeare’s most popular plays during his lifetime, It is one of the most frequently performed plays. In the play, the key idea of fate is explored. Shakespeare’s communicates to us that throughout the play fate controls a lot of what Romeo does.

Romeos dreams are controlled by fate. In the play it says “He that hath the steerage of my course direct my sail” Which means that fate controls what he does and he just follows it. Romeo for example is a ship and he can’t control it there is someone else steering him into different directions, He has someone watching over him making decisions for him. He also said “I am no pilot, yet wert thou as four as that vast shore wash’d with the farthest sea, I should adventure for such merchandise.” When he says he is no pilot, he again, states that he isn’t the one that gets to choose what to do. A pilot is the one that steers the boat/ship. Romeo acknowledges he’s not in control but he would travel any distance, go to any length to get her love. ” From forth the fatal lions of these to foes. A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life.” The play tells us in its opening lines that Romeo and Juliet will die, and that their tragic end is fated.

The prologue tells us a brief summary about the play, It reveals the ending to us, so we know what is happening throughout the whole play, we all knew that Romeo and Juliet were going to both die. The point of a prologue is to give the reader extra information and advances the plot. The prologue tells us where the scene is set, It also tells us a bit of information about their backgrounds and families. The details in the prologue are mainly only the most important things that happen throughout the play. Before Romeo goes to the ball at capulets, when he falls in love and meets Juliet, He says about the funny feeling like something’s “hanging in the stars” so something was destined to happen because of them falling in love. ” Doth with their death bury their parents strife” Is explaining that the lovers die and get buried, the conflict between their families die as well and is buried along with Romeo and Juliet.

Throughout the play Romeo has these

notes: A metaphor is a hidden, implicit or implied comparison between two seemingly unrelated things. It is a figure of speech in which two strikingly different concepts or things are compared to one another based off a single common characteristic.

Example: “He that hath the steerage of my course, direct my sail!”

Romeo speaks these words just as he begins to make his way to the capulet ball. In this metaphor, Romeo compares his fate to a ship. The common characteristic that binds them and brings us meaning is the fact that the ship cannot control the path it takes, its captain does this. Romeo’s fate is similar here as he believes that someone/something is in control of it for him. This links to the larger notion of fate that is communicated in the play as it shows the acknowledgement from one of the main characters that a greater power rules their actions. This was a common belief of the people in Elizabethan England, who believed their life path was predetermined by god.

“I am no pilot.”

He has no control over what he does. In this metaphor romeo compares himself to an inexperienced pilot. They are similar because he is comparing himself to the pilot, His feeling of being out of control. It was a connection with fate and that it was meant to be. This was a common belief of the people in Elizabethan England, who believed their life path was predetermined by god.

characters in R+J

Romeo is one of our two protagonists in the play. At time, he directly acknowledges the power that ‘fate’ has over him. During other points in the play, Romeo demonstrates an inability to control his emotions and this means he acts rashly. We can argue that because he is an impulsive character, shakespeare is showing us that another power, like fate, directs his life + decisions.

  • Protagonists means: they are the centre of attention in the book.
  • inability to control his emotions: he does things unexpectedly and has a lot of mood swings.
  • acts rashly:
